New Delhi: As part of its various activities to promote and raise awareness of blood donation, the Center has advised the establishment of blood group screening devices in primary health centers, community health centers and district hospitals on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, June 14.
The Union Department of Health has written to all states and union territories, saying such an initiative would be useful for emergencies and for blood donation purposes. All central government ministries, public and private hospitals/institutions and medical colleges were also invited to hold similar activities on June 14.

“To promote blood donor registration and raise awareness, a facility for blood group testing may be made available on June 14, 2022 in all PHCS/CHC/sub-district and district hospitals and other blood banks as per the feasibility.
